The World's First Indoor Airsoft League
Modesto CQB will be launching the world's first competitive indoor airsoft league on Thursday, March 25. The league will span 7 weeks with stat tracked games starting at 6:30pm every Thursday night. The 8th week will host the Championship game between the two highest scoring teams. Further explanation of the scoring and matchmaking system will follow in a later thread.
At this time we will only be accepting team applications. We will be accepting the first 8 eligible teams that send a PM to me stating their intention to participate and pay.
After team applications have been completed throughout the next week, a new thread will open to announce the availability of freelancer league applications.
You can apply for the league by sending me a PM with the following information.
1: Your desired team name. Please note that your team can be denied based on inappropriate names or names shared by real-world entities that may hold the rights to that name.
2: The names and call signs of your team members. 7-8 names are required: 5 names of standard element members and 2-3 names of alternate element members that can substitute. Players participating in the league must be 12 years or older.
3. A designated Element Leader. This individual will be held responsible for all of the actions of his team during the course of the league. If required, the Element Leader is expected to fulfill settlement and disciplinary roles within his element and internally manage all complaints or report them to Modesto CQB staff or a valkyrie. Element leaders must be 17 years or older.
Please note that substitute players may be shared by no more than 2 teams and that standard element members may only act as substitutes in cases of 10-man teams (meaning a team of 10 that fields two separate elements).
The price of league play for the Spring 2010 league is as follows:
Registered Team Name (includes team stat tracking): $90
Standard Element Member (includes personal stat tracking): $50
Alternate Element Member (includes personal stat tracking for 1 day): $20
Please note that alternate element members will pay week to week as they are needed for substitute.
Standard Element Members are guaranteed 35 stat tracked matches plus a shot at the Championship.
Let's make history!
So far it looks like I will only be a sub but I will gladly ref when ever I'm needed
Okay yeah 12 sounds good considering i have some 14 year olds and a 12 year old trainee
So if your not assigned to a team how will this work? I usually bring my son out and he is only 8. Will he no longer be able to play ?
The minimum age for stat-tracked league play is 12.
If you would like to participate in the Thursday night league I suggest you get in a team that will register.
The only team that I know of that is accepting applications for alternate players is Divine Airsoft Strikers. Team leader is Marlon (Ferdi).
OK sounds good then. My son will be stoked he can still participate on the Saturday events.
My team and I were thinking about joining your league , but well see my team is made up of 13 to 14 year old's and the requirements for the Element Leader's age is 17. Can we join the league even if we don't have a 17 year old on our team or do we have to wait or get someone who is 17?
One of your standard element must be 17 or older as the designated team leader. That's one out of the seven registered names, you should still have room for your younger players.
My team will not be able to join then, sorry.
Two important things:
1: I am now expecting freelancer league applications. Send away!
2: If you plan to be in the league you need to make sure that your username on this website is the name or callsign that you want to be associated with your tracked stats. As this is the case I will be changing my username from SMuncy to Shadow. I will create a new thread for anyone wishing to announce their name change.
To change your name use the left-hand sidebar. Click "My account" then "edit."
The arena layout has been changed for the start of the league.
Thanks to Marlon's reminder, all league participants will be allowed to come down a half hour earlier (6:00pm) on Thursday to walk the new layout before games start around 6:30.
This will be standard practice for anytime the map layout is changed.
League members: please note that you can now click on league dates in the calendar section of this site to see what teams you will be playing against on any particular night. You can also see which teams take which weeks off.
Remember, when your team is on an off week you can still attend the league night at your own discretion and may play any freelance teams that are there as well. Victory points cannot be accrued from such games.
I want to hear from the participants of the Spring League. We're just past the halfway point in the season, and I'd like to know what you guys think. I have had a blast, even when we lose (i'm not sure Red Eye feels the same way). I am certain that one thing that would make it better is to have more teams involved.
None of the Saturday crowd will know about how cool league is if we're not telling them, so come on... Let's hear what you love about league - and of course it's ok to talk about some of the things you don't like.
I was wondering if for the Saturday events if I could use my riot shield that I built out of a big tub's lid, a piece of shipping cardboard, and caution tape (the design if you are wondering). I was wondering if i could use it or it be somewhat like a cheating item so I couldn't use it. Just wondering, Thanks.
I was told there a no lol
No.
For one they are an unrealistic thing in a combat situation (despite what Modern Warfare 2 tells us, riot shields don't deflect bullets in real life, even if it's just a .22)
For two you will get saftey'd. Alot. (The riot shield is technically cover, so even if you manage to get semi close, they can point over or around your riot shield and shout saftey and you're out.
For three, you will be flanked a lot (Riot shields can be surprisingly clumsy, and very easy to spot, meaning everyone will know where you are unless you're well concealed behind cover, and easily flank and out-maneuver you.)
For four, They are extremely clumsy (you're restricted to using a one handed weapon, which you can only fire on one side of the riot shield (unless you manage to switch hands but that would take to long to practically do while being shot at) thus cutting your vector of fire, whether firing around your shield without aiming is considered blind firing or not is up to Shadow. Not to mention, for a riot shield to effectively cover you, it has to be big. meaning it would be pretty hard to run to and from cover.)
TL;DR, Not only is it a bad idea, it's most likely not allowed with the current rules.
No riot shields except what is used by the Valkyries.

The minimum age requirement for standard element members has been corrected from 15 to 12 years old.
Element Leader requirement remains 17 or older.
